How to Use KidUpStory

What it does: Your home screen — a quick overview of your stories, credits, reading stats and recent activity.

How to use it

1. 1 Open the Dashboard from the top of the menu to see everything at a glance.
2. 2 Use the shortcuts to jump straight to creating a story or continuing where you left off.

What it does: The heart of KidUpStory — the AI writes and illustrates a personalised children's book for you.

How to use it

1. 1 Choose a ready-made theme or write your own idea.
2. 2 Select which family members will be the characters and their roles.
3. 3 Pick the language, the child's age range and the number of pages.
4. 4 Choose the book format (A4, landscape or square) — this is locked once the story is made.
5. 5 Press Create and wait a few minutes while the story and pictures are generated.

What it does: All the stories you've created, ready to read, listen to, print or share.

How to use it

1. 1 Tap a story to open it in the page-flip reader.
2. 2 Turn on narration to have the story read aloud, or mark favourites with the heart.
3. 3 Use the search and filters to find a story, or select several to delete at once.

What it does: See how much your child reads — time spent, daily streaks and favourite stories.

How to use it

1. 1 Open Reading Stats to view charts of reading time and your daily streak.
2. 2 Check the heatmap and top lists to learn when and what your child reads most.

What it does: Fun badges your child earns for reading, creating and sharing stories.

How to use it

1. 1 Open Achievements to see unlocked and locked badges grouped by type.
2. 2 Some badges reward you with free credits when unlocked.

What it does: Ready-made story ideas (adventure, friendship, bedtime…) and your own custom themes.

How to use it

1. 1 Browse themes by category and pick one to start a story instantly.
2. 2 Premium themes are marked — upgrade to unlock them all.
3. 3 Create your own theme with a custom description to reuse it any time.

What it does: The people who become the heroes of your stories — children, parents, grandparents and more.

How to use it

1. 1 Add a family member with their name, age and how they should be addressed.
2. 2 Upload a clear photo so the AI can draw them in the illustrations.
3. 3 Choose their relationship; you can edit or remove them any time.

What it does: Clone a voice so stories can be read aloud in a familiar voice — like mum or dad.

How to use it

1. 1 Record a short voice sample in the app following the on-screen script.
2. 2 The system checks the quality and creates the voice profile.
3. 3 Pick this voice when listening to a story's narration.

What it does: Order a real printed copy of your story, delivered to your door.

How to use it

1. 1 From a finished story, choose Print and select binding, paper and cover options.
2. 2 Enter the delivery address and pay securely with card.
3. 3 Track your order's status and shipping right here until it arrives.

What it does: Download the print-ready PDF files of stories you've prepared for printing.

How to use it

1. 1 Open the Print Archive to find your prepared books.
2. 2 Download the interior and cover PDFs separately to print or keep.

What it does: Share your stories with family and friends through a private link or a shelf page.

How to use it

1. 1 Create a shareable link for a single story, or a shelf with several stories.
2. 2 Optionally add a password and an expiry date for privacy.
3. 3 Send the link — viewers can read (and optionally hear) the story without an account.

What it does: Manage your subscription plan and buy credit packages used to create stories.

How to use it

1. 1 Compare plans and upgrade or change your subscription.
2. 2 Buy a credit package — bigger packs include bonus credits.
3. 3 View your current plan and credit balance at the top.

What it does: A detailed record of every credit you've earned, bought or spent.

How to use it

1. 1 Open Credit History to see all your credit transactions.
2. 2 Check it to understand what each story or feature cost you.

What it does: Earn free credits by inviting friends to join KidUpStory.

How to use it

1. 1 Copy your personal invite link and share it with friends.
2. 2 When a friend signs up and uses it, you both receive bonus credits.

What it does: Manage your account, security, notifications and privacy from one place.

How to use it

1. 1 General: change your name, email, language and profile photo.
2. 2 Security: update your password and review account security.
3. 3 Notifications: choose which emails and alerts you want to receive.
4. 4 Connections: link or unlink Google sign-in and other accounts.
5. 5 Child safety (COPPA): manage parental consent for children's data.
6. 6 Danger zone: delete your account and data permanently if you wish.

What it does: A safe, locked reading mode for children in the mobile app, with a parental PIN.

How to use it

1. 1 In the mobile app, set a parent PIN and choose which stories appear on the kids' shelf.
2. 2 Set a daily reading time limit if you want one.
3. 3 Turn on screen pinning (Android) or guided access (iOS) so kids stay in the app.
